Michael David Peluso (born November 8, 1965 in Hibbing , Minnesota ) is a retired American ice hockey player who played 520 games for the Chicago Blackhawks , Ottawa Senators , New Jersey Devils , St. Louis during his active career between 1988 and 1998 Blues and Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League on the left winger position . Peluso, who embodied the player type of the Enforcer , won the Stanley Cup in 1995 for the New Jersey Devils . His cousin of the same name, nine years his junior, was also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Mike Peluso began his career in 1985 at the University of Alaska Anchorage in the National Collegiate Athletic Association , where he was active for four years. Then he went on the ice for the Indianapolis Ice in the International Hockey League . Already there he was noticed because of his tough game and collected many penalty minutes - 337 penalty minutes in 89 games.

Until 1992 he played mainly for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League . In between he played several times for the Indianapolis Ice , but still spent most of his time with the Blackhawks. Peluso had already been selected in the NHL Entry Draft 1984 by the New Jersey Devils in the tenth round in 190th position, for which he only ran up in 1993, because the Devils had signed him in a transfer deal.

From 1992 to 1993 he played for the Ottawa Senators , of whom he was selected in the 1992 NHL Expansion Draft , and from 1993 to 1997 for the New Jersey Devils . With the Devils he won the Stanley Cup in 1995 . The career stations of St. Louis Blues and Calgary Flames followed . Then he ended his career.
