The Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sports ( Hebrew משרד התרבות והספורט, Misrad HaTarbut VeHaSport ) is a new and relatively small ministry in Israel. In the past, cultural and sports policy were located in other ministries. From 1949 to 1999 and from 2003 to 2006 cultural policy was the responsibility of the Ministry of Education. Sports policy was the responsibility of the Ministry of Education from 1994 to 1999 and from 2003 to 2006. From 2006 to 2009, cultural and sports policy was housed in the Ministry of Science and Technology, after which they were reunited into a single ministry in March 2009 by the Netanyahu government.
