Ministry of Development (Israel)

The Ministry of Development ( Hebrew שר הפִּתּוּחַ, translit. Sar HaPituach ) was a portfolio in the Israeli cabinet from 1953 to 1974. The ministry was responsible for government-owned mineral extraction companies and the country's geology institute. The Dead Sea Works were subordinate to the Ministry .

history

The ministry was established during the second legislative period of the Knesset in the government coalition under Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion . Dov Yosef became the first minister to take over the ministry on June 15, 1953.
