Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on March 26, 1999 that the film had an “ amazing cast ”, a director who knew how to use the camera and a lot of “ sly humor ”. However, he is lame and the viewer is amazed at how little has been missing to make a better film.

Kevin Thomas wrote in the Los Angeles Times of March 26, 1999 that the three leading actors Danes, Ribisi and Epps - all " on the threshold of great careers " - would play their roles as well as the characters were developed (" as well-played as their characters are well-written "). The cameraman Ellen Kuras and the production designer Patrick Sherman would give the film a “ cool, intentionally impersonal big city feel ”. The soundtrack is remarkably lush.
