Mohamed Magdi Hamza Khalif (born August 30, 1996 ) is an Egyptian shot putter who also competed in discus at the beginning of his career .

Athletic career

Mohamed Magdi Hamza gained his first international experience in 2013 at the African Youth Championships in Warri , where he won the gold medal with a width of 21.22 m with the 5 kg ball, as well as in the discus throw with 58.62 m. He then won the Arab Youth Championships in Cairo with 20.17 m in the shot put and won the silver medal with the discus with 56.96 m. He then won the bronze medal in the shot put at the Youth World Championships in Donetsk with 20.58 m and was eliminated from the discus competition with 52.56 m in qualification. The following year he was fourth at the Junior World Championships in Eugene with 19.85 m with the 6 kg ball and fifth at the African Championships in Marrakech with 17.64 m. In 2015 he won the Junior African Championships in Addis Ababa with 20.66 m and took fourth place in the discus throw with 52.04 m. Then he won the Arab championship in Madinat Isa with 18.38 m, the silver medal behind his compatriot Mostafa Amr Hassan and also won the silver medal at the Africa Games in Brazzaville with 19.78 m, this time behind the Congolese Franck Elemba .

In 2016 he won the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Tunis with 19.42 m and was sixth at the African Championships in Durban with 19.00 m. Two years later he was fourth at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo with 18.80 m and was eliminated from the qualification at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona with 18.58 m. He then won the silver medal behind the Nigerian Chukwuebuka Enekwarti at the African Championships in Asaba with a width of 19.33 m . In 2019 he won the silver medal behind his compatriot Hassan at the Arab Championships in Cairo with 20.39 m and finished eighth at the Summer Universiade in Naples with 19.26 m. He then won the silver medal behind Enekendungi at the African Games in Rabat with 20.85 m and was eliminated from the qualification at the World Championships in Doha with 19.91 m and then finished fourth at the World Military Games in Wuhan with 20.54 m .

In 2016 and 2018, Hassan became the Egyptian champion in the shot put.
