history

13th to 15th centuries

The Wittelsbacher Ludwig der Strenge bought the Störnstein estate from Ulrich Stör in 1262 and united it with the Neustadt estate to form the Störnstein-Neustadt estate. The sturgeon family was a branch of the Lords of Murach , who were connected with the Ortenburgers . This purchase was an attempt by the Wittelsbachers to reduce the influence of the Ortenburgers in the Upper Palatinate. The Salbuch Ludwig des Strengen from 1283 recorded Mohrenstein with 3 farms and a mill as belonging to the Störnstein lordship.

Mohrenstein was recorded in the land registers from 1285 and 1326.

Since the 13th century belonged Country aces goods Püchersreuth and Mohr Stone together for the sovereign possession of the rule and the Office Störnstein. At first Mohrenstein was more important, but from the 14th century Püchersreuth gained in importance.

In the 14th century Püchersreuth was a Leuchtenberg fiefdom and Mohrenstein a man fiefdom of the crown of Bohemia .

16th and 17th centuries

Since the beginning of the 16th century, the Mohrenstein estate, together with Püchersreuth, was owned by Hans von Floß and then by Gabriel von Floß. After the death of Gabriel von Floß on January 19, 1561, his son Hans von Floß became the landowner and also took over the Bohemian Kronlehen Mohrenstein.

Paulus von Floß took over after Hans von Floß's death in 1572. He was named in the Salbuch of 1580 as the owner of Mohrenstein. Mohrenstein was listed here with a crew and a mill.

In the Salbuch of 1598 the two brothers Paul and Hans Gabriel von Floß were named as the owners of Mohrenstein. At that time Mohrenstein was described as desolate, but with its associated properties it was still a man fief of the crown of Bohemia.

In 1598 Christoph von Brand bought the indebted property Püchersreuth-Mohrenstein. In 1602 he was enfeoffed with the Bohemian Mohrenstein Crown Fief.

In 1613 Christoph von Brand died of the plague and left no heirs. His property Püchersreuth-Mohrenstein was bought by Christoph Portner von Theuern . The Bohemian Kronlehen Mohrenstein fell back to the crown of Bohemia.

In 1616 Mohrenstein was separated from the Püchersreuth estate.

In order to receive Mohrenstein for the Bohemian crown, it was awarded in 1616 to Leander Rüppel , the Churpfälz council in Prague . In 1620 the Winter King lost in the Battle of the White Mountain . When following Blutgericht 1621 Leander Rüppel was in Prague on the Old Town Square executed by the sword and confiscated his property. After that, the Bohemian Kronlehen Mohrenstein was vacant for a few years.

In 1630 Christoph Philipp von Sazenhofen was enfeoffed with Mohrenstein. When he died in 1631 he left his property to his son Thomas Wilhelm von Sazenhofen, who was also enfeoffed with Mohrenstein.

Thomas Wilhelm von Sazenhofen sold the property Püchersreuth-Mohrenstein to Hans Gottfried Hundt . There were difficulties with the Bohemian Kronlehen Mohrenstein and it finally fell back to the Bohemian Crown.

18th century until today

The Hundt family kept the property until 1748. Then they sold it to Johann Wilhelm Teuffel von Birkensee , who was also enfeoffed with Mohrenstein.

In 1753, after the death of Johann Wilhelm, Empress Maria Theresa enfeoffed his 7 sons with Mohrenstein. That same year, she gave them permission to sell. They sold to Joseph Ernst Freiherr von Podewils , who was also enfeoffed with Mohrenstein.

In 1792 Georg von Jaquet was listed as the owner of Mohrensstein. Mohrenstein was a noblemen's seat with a mill. Around 1800 Mohrenstein had 1 house and 10 residents. It was a royal Bohemian fiefdom and the mill was an allodium .

Mohrenstein belonged to the tax district Störnstein, founded at the beginning of the 19th century, which was also a direct rural municipality . Irlmühle, Mohrenstein, Polier and Störnstein belonged to the community of Störnstein.
