Montreal Open 2016

The Montreal Open 2016 took place from March 3-6, 2016 in Montreal , Canada . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2015/16 and belonged to the PSA 35 category .

The winner of the last edition in 2014 , Mathieu Castagnet , did not participate again. In the final of the two top seeded players, Ali Farag prevailed against Karim Abdel Gawad with 3:11, 18:16, 9:11, 11: 6 and 11: 7. This was Farag's ninth title on the PSA World Tour and his second this season.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received David Baillargeon a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 35,000.
