Just for the sake of my wife is a 1948 American comedy film directed by HC Potter and starring Cary Grant and Myrna Loy . Written and produced by Melvin Frank and Norman Panama , it is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Eric Hodgins .

The film was a box office hit . Warner Home Video released it on DVD in 2004 . The house built for the film is still in Malibu State Park north of Malibu, California and is used by the park administration.

Advertising manager Jim Blandings lives in a small apartment in New York with his wife Muriel and two daughters.
