The Municipio Ancoraimes is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Ancoraimes is one of six municipalities in the province of Omasuyos and is located in the western part of the province. It is bordered to the west by the province of Eliodoro Camacho , to the south by Lake Titicaca , to the east by the municipality of Achacachi , to the northeast by the province of Larecaja , and to the north by the province of Muñecas .

The municipality has 88 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Ancoraimes with 592 inhabitants in the south-western part of the district. ( 2012 census )

geography

The Municipio Ancoraimes is located on the Bolivian Altiplano on the east bank of Lake Titicaca at an average altitude of 3900  m , between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.

The mean average temperature of the municipality is 9 ° C (see climate diagram Batallas), the annual precipitation is about 600 mm. The region has a distinctive daytime climate, the monthly average temperatures fluctuate only insignificantly between 6 ° C in July and 10 ° C in December, the monthly precipitation is between under 10 mm in the months of June and July and around 100 mm from December to February.
