The Municipio Azurduy is a district in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Azurduy is one of two Municipios of the Azurduy Province and is located in the southern part of the province. It borders on the municipality of Tarvita to the northwest, the province of Nor Cinti to the west and south, and the province of Hernando Siles to the east and north .

The municipality extends between 19 ° 49 'and 20 ° 28' south latitude and 64 ° 17 'and 64 ° 36' west longitude, it measures up to 70 kilometers from north to south and up to 30 kilometers from east to west.

The municipality has 132 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the village Azurduy with 1,229 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the northern part of the district.

The Municipio Azurduy is located between the Altiplano in the west and the lowlands in the east in one of the north-south side valleys of the Bolivian Cordillera Central .

The climate of the region is a distinct daytime climate , in which the temperature differences between day and night fluctuate more clearly than the average values ​​between summer and winter.
