The Municipio Tarvita (also: Villa Orías) is a district in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Tarvita is one of two municipalities in the Azurduy province and is located in the northern part of the province. It borders in the northwest with the province of Jaime Zudáñez and the Department of Potosí , in the west with the province Nor Cinti , in the south and southeast with the municipality Azurduy , and in the east and northeast with the province Tomina .

The municipality extends between 19 ° 33 'and 20 ° 02' south latitude and 64 ° 22 'and 64 ° 47' west longitude, it measures up to 55 kilometers from north to south and up to 42 kilometers from west to east.

The municipality comprises 127 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of Tarvita with 960 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southeastern part of the district.

The Municipio Tarvita is located between the Altiplano in the west and the lowlands in the east in one of the north-south side valleys of the Bolivian Cordillera Central .

The climate of the region is a distinct daytime climate , in which the temperature differences between day and night fluctuate more clearly than the average values ​​between summer and winter.
