The Municipio Padcaya is a district in the Tarija Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Padcaya is the northern of the two Municipios of the Province of Aniceto Arce . It is bordered to the north by the province of Cercado and the province of José María Avilés , to the west and southeast by the Republic of Argentina , to the south by the municipality of Bermejo , to the east by the province of Gran Chaco , and to the northeast by the province of Burnet O'Connor .
The central place of the municipality is Padcaya with 1,437 inhabitants ( 2012 ) on the northern edge of the district.

The Municipio Padcaya is located in southern Bolivia on the eastern slopes of the eastern Andes mountain range at the transition to the Bolivian lowlands.
The mean average temperature of the region is 13.5 ° C (see Padcaya climate diagram), the annual precipitation is 630 mm, with a pronounced dry season from May to September with monthly precipitation below 10 mm, and a humidity period from December to February with monthly precipitation well over 100 mm. The monthly average temperatures vary between 9 ° C in June and July and 17 ° C in December and January.
