The Municipio Paria is a district in the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia . With Law 2329 of February 4, 2002, the previous Municipio Soracachi was renamed Municipio Pari (also: Paria) .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality Paria is one of four municipalities in the province of Cercado and is located in the eastern part of the province. It is bordered by the Municipio Caracollo in the northwest , the Municipio Oruro in the west, the Municipio El Choro in the southwest, the Pantaleón Dalence province in the south , and the Cochabamba department in the east .

The municipality has 93 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the village Soracachi with 480 inhabitants ( 2001 census ) in the northeastern part of the district.
