Bani Walid ( Arabic بني وليد, DMG Banī Walīd ) is a former municipality that was located in the northwest of the Libyan Arab Republic . In 2007 it was combined with the city of Misrata to form the new Misrata Municipality . The capital of the municipality was the city of the same name, Bani Walid .
