NGC 2144 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Table Mountain in the southern sky . It is an estimated 205 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on January 17, 1836 .
