Nhoah Hoena alias Nhoah (* 1961 in Berlin , spelling NHOAH ) is a Berlin music producer, composer, DJ and artist. He also works as a photographer, painter and author under the pseudonym H.Flug . He exhibits in galleries and museums and has worked in cooperation with various visual and performance artists (including Eric Tannhäuser, Carola Schmidt ). [1] [9] [18]

life and career

In 1980 Nhoah was active as a drummer in various Berlin bands (including Aeroflot, Komeda Artist) and also worked with international artist groups such as Jayne County , Romy Haag and Hot Java.

He increasingly used electronic means of production and composed, produced and developed musical content, among other things. a. with and for Larry Steinbacheck / Bronski Beat , Gareth Jones, Rio Reiser , Marianne Rosenberg . He mainly worked in the Hansa-Tonstudios Berlin and the Tritonus Studio Berlin.

Commissioned work for u. a. The Pogues , Peacock Palace and David Hasselhoff as well as multimedia projects.

In 1998 he was the main founder of the company ROT respectortolerate for music production and artist management, which takes care of the development of young artists. This resulted u. a. Mia. , The Aim of Design Is to Define Space , Schlindwein and Lulu Schmidt , for which he also produced and composed numerous songs.

Together with Carola Schmidt he got for the short film "We ask you, seduce us!" the 2008 Diagonale film festival young talent award . [17]

In 2011 the first album of his project Tangowerk by Nhoah was released . It combines Berlin electro club sounds and tango orchestral sounds from Buenos Aires . Contributors include a. Artists like Adriana Varela, Louie Austen , Berlin Comedian Harmonists and Mieze Katz (from Mia. ). A feature film and a play will be created for this project. The album Tangowerk was nominated for the German Record Critics' Prize.

Nhoah has received various gold and platinum awards for his productions. His work includes collaborations with producers from The Eurythmics , Depeche Mode and Bronski Beat 's Larry Steinbachek.

NHOAH has been performing as a live act and DJ since 2017 . Since then he has released a studio album, several EPs and a live album with electronic music, mainly in the genres of techno, deep house and electronica.

Nhoah's most recent releases include his debut album West-Berlin (2018), with remixes by 808 State and μ-Ziq . Be At TV broadcast the live concert "Stairway To Nothingness - Glacier Concert" (2019) on the hanging glass staircase at 3000 meters on the highest mountain in Styria, the Dachstein Glacier .
