NaVorro Roderick Bowman (* 28. May 1988 in District Heights , Maryland as NaVorro Andrews) is a former American American football poker players on the position of the linebackers . He played for the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders in the National Football League (NFL).
college
NaVorro Bowman attended Pennsylvania State University and played for Penn State Nittany Lions College Football from the 2007 season . In 2009 he and his team reached the Rose Bowl , which takes place annually on January 1st at the Rose Bowl Stadium . Despite an excellent performance by Bowman, for which he received numerous honors, Penn State lost the game against the University of Southern California (USC) with 24:38.
NFL
In the 2010 NFL Draft , Bowman was selected as the 91st player by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round. In the 2012 season he was called to the Pro Bowl and won the NFC Championship Game against the Atlanta Falcons with his team . In the following Super Bowl XLVII, however, they were defeated by the Baltimore Ravens with 34:31.
In the 2013 season, the 49ers qualified for the NFC Championship Game, but lost it to the eventual Super Bowl winner, the Seattle Seahawks . Bowman suffered a serious knee injury in the fourth quarter. A few weeks earlier, Bowman had scored the final touchdown at the old home of the San Francisco 49ers, Candlestick Park , by catching a pass from Matt Ryan and running to an 89- yard interception- return touchdown. This touchdown was voted the second best action in Candlestick Park history after The Catch .
Bowman announced his retirement in early June 2019.
