Naoko Kijimuta ( Japanese 雉 子 牟 田 直 子 , Kijimuta Naoko ; born March 26, 1972 in Ebina , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a former Japanese tennis player .

Career

Naoko Kijimuta's professional career lasted from 1991 to 1998. During this period, she won five double titles on the WTA Tour .

In 1997 and 1998 she was in the doubles competition in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open . In these two years she also played her only three games for the Japanese Fed Cup team , all of which she lost.

In singles she reached 44th place and in doubles with rank 18 (1997), her best placement in the WTA world rankings . Her older sister Akiko was also a professional tennis player.
