The Nash Advanced Eight was a series of eight-cylinder passenger cars produced by the Nash Motors Company in Kenosha . It replaced the 990 together with the larger Ambassador Eight and was manufactured from 1932 to 1935.

Like its predecessor, the Advanced Eight, model 1090 , introduced on March 1, 1932 , had a chassis with a 3,378 mm wheelbase. He had an overhead eight-cylinder in-line engine with 5,277 cm³ displacement (bore × stroke = 85.7 mm × 114.3 mm), which delivered 125 bhp (92 kW) at 3,600 / min. The drive and brake components (single-disc dry clutch, 3-speed gearbox with center shift, rear-wheel drive, mechanical brakes on all four wheels) came from the previous year's model. There were various open and closed structures with 2 to 7 seats.

In 1933, the Advanced Eight, model 1180 , got the chassis and engine of the Nash Special Eight model from the previous year and thus descended a class to differentiate itself more clearly from the top model Ambassador. The wheelbase was only 3,251 mm, the engine had a capacity of 4,274 cm³ and developed 100 bhp (74 kW) at 3,200 rpm.

In 1934, the 1280 model came with an even shorter wheelbase, namely 3,073 mm. The lines of the body became a little more fluid.

In 1935, the model 3580 , like its larger sister model , the Ambassador, received a streamlined body with a steeply sloping radiator grille, teardrop-shaped fenders and a hatchback. The open spare wheel was also gone. The wheelbase grew again to 3,175 mm.

In 1936 the Advanced Eight, which was already very similar to the Ambassador in the previous year , was no longer offered and was replaced by it.
