Nash Big Six

The Nash Big Six was a line of six-cylinder passenger cars produced by the Nash Motors Company in Kenosha . It replaced the 960 and was manufactured from 1932 to 1934.

The Big Six, model 1060 , introduced on March 1, 1932 , had a 2946 mm wheelbase chassis. It had a side-controlled six-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 3299 cm³ (bore × stroke = 79.4 mm × 111.1 mm), which delivered 70 bhp (51 kW) at 3000 rpm. The drive and brake components (single-disc dry clutch, 3-speed gearbox with center shift, rear-wheel drive, mechanical brakes on all four wheels) came from the previous year's model. There were various open and closed structures with 2 to 5 seats.

In 1933 the Big Six, model 1120 , got a new engine with 3569 cm³ displacement (bore × stroke = 82.6 mm × 111.1 mm) and 75 bhp (55 kW) at 3200 rpm. Chassis and appearance remained the same, so that the Big Six was similar to the scaled-down Standard Eight model , but which had a small eight-cylinder engine with 4.05 liter displacement and 80 bhp (59 kW).

In 1934 the Big Six, model 1220 , got a new overhead engine with 3848 cm³ displacement (bore × stroke = 85.7 mm × 111.1 mm), which developed 88 bhp (64.7 kW) at 3200 rpm. The chrome headlight housings were rocket-shaped and the body lines were a little more fluid.

In 1935 the new Advanced Six replaced the Big Six.
