Nash Special Six Coupé model series 430 (1929)

The Nash Special Six was a six-cylinder passenger car manufactured by the Nash Motors Company in Kenosha from 1925 to 1929. The Special Six was the smaller version of the Advanced Six model produced in parallel and replaced the Nash Four .

The Special Six, model 130 , had a chassis with a 2,858 mm wheelbase. The overhead six-cylinder block engine had a displacement of 3,392 cm³ (bore × stroke = 79.4 mm × 114.3 mm) and developed 46 bhp (33.8 kW) at 2,200 rpm. Single-disc dry clutch and three-speed gearbox (with center shift), as well as the rear-wheel drive, were taken over from the predecessor. All four wheels were braked mechanically.

In addition to a 4-door touring car and a 2-door and a 4-door sedan (each with 5 seats), a 2-seater roadster was also built.

In 1926 the lines of the new model 230 - like those of its big brother Advanced Six (model 260) - became a little softer. The engine now developed 47 bhp (34.5 kW) at 2,200 rpm with the same displacement. In the following year, this model got a bored out engine with a displacement of 3,671 cm³ (bore × stroke = 82.6 mm × 114.3 mm), which made 52 bhp (38.2 kW). In addition, new bodies were added.

In 1928 the 330 model came , which had a slightly higher radiator than the previous year. The technical data did not change.

The model 430 from 1929 - the last of the series - had - like the larger model - again a taller and narrower radiator. Its border, the main headlights and the double-row front bumpers were now chrome-plated. The wheelbase grew to 2,946 mm; there was also a long version with a 3,099 mm wheelbase. With the same displacement, the engine now developed 65 bhp (48 kW) at 2,900 rpm.

In 1930 the new Single Six model replaced the Special Six and the smaller Standard Six that had been in production since 1929 .
