The Nash 870 (pronounced: Eight-Seventy ) was a series of eight-cylinder passenger cars from the Nash Motors Company in Kenosha . Together with its less powerful sister model 660, it replaced the six-cylinder model Single Six and was only manufactured in model year 1931. In the following year the series was renamed the Nash 970 (read: Nine-Seventy ).

The 870 had a chassis with a 2,953 mm wheelbase. Its overhead control eight-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 3,723 cm³ (bore × stroke = 73 mm × 111.1 mm) developed 78 bhp (57.4 kW) at 3,300 rpm. The drive and brake components (single-disc dry clutch, 3-speed gearbox with center shift, rear-wheel drive, mechanical brakes on all four wheels) came from the previous year's model. There were two different 4-door sedans, a 2-door convertible, and two different 2-door coupes.

The 1932 model was introduced on June 1, 1931, showed itself without major changes and was christened 970 . As with the larger models 990 and 980 , the radiator grille was given a slight V-shape and the main headlights a more elongated (rocket) shape. Instead of the two front bumper parts lying on top of each other, there was a one-piece bumper.

As early as March 1, 1932, the Standard Eight Model 1070 replaced this model series.
