The Hudson 112 refers to a series of six-cylinder - automobiles , the Hudson Motor Car Co. in Detroit produced in model years 1938 and 1939th The name of the vehicle derives from its wheelbase (112 " ). It was Hudson's cheapest model range and available in two equipment lines ( Standard and DeLuxe ).

The 89 model had a wheelbase of 2845 mm and an in-line six-cylinder engine with side-mounted valves, 2868 cm³ displacement (bore × stroke = 76.2 mm × 104.8 mm) and an output of 86 bhp (63 kW) at 4000 rpm. The engine power was passed on to a three-speed gearbox (with center shift) and then to the rear wheels via a single-disc oil bath clutch. The hydraulic brakes worked on all four wheels. A semi-automatic preset transmission was available as an option.

As with most of the other Hudson models of this year, there were mainly 2-door bodies , but there was also a 4-door sedan . The standard model had a painted dashboard and painted window frames, while these parts at the DeLuxe model of walnut - wood were. In addition, the DeLuxe models had a more expensive upholstery fabric.

The 112 also celebrated sporting successes in 1938: in Bonneville Flats it set the hour record for class D vehicles with an average speed of 80.5 mph (128.96 km / h) and covered 32,564 km in 12 days with an average speed of 70.58 mph (113.5 km / h) back. He was also used as a pace car in Indy 500 races.

In 1939, the 112 ( model 90 ) was the only series in the Hudson model range to keep the previous year's styling with separate headlights. Only the covers on top of the grille and the steering wheel gearshift were new .

The successors to the 112 for the 1940 model year were Traveler Six and DeLuxe Six .
