The nature and adventure park Bremervörde is a largely barrier-free nature adventure park near the Vörder See in Bremervörde in the state of Lower Saxony .

history

On the occasion of the second Lower Saxony State Exhibition Nature in Urban Development in Bremervörde in 1991, the area around the Vörder See was redesigned. The aim was to combine landscape, nature and urban architecture in order to increase the attractiveness of the city while conserving natural resources. After the end of the exhibition, the Natur- und Erlebnispark Bremervörde GmbH took over the maintenance of the park, which since then has been used for recreation, nature experience and environmental education and is constantly being further developed and expanded.

Accessibility

Right from the start, an important part of the concept was to enable everyone to experience nature. The process of further improving the accessibility of the site and the individual offers takes place in dialogue with those affected.

World of the senses: balancing disc

Based on ideas from Hugo Kükelhaus , a field of experience for developing the senses was created with five themed huts. Various objects such as humming stones , sound, smell and feeling objects, stone pendulums , partner swings , swash plates enable the experience of diverse individual sensory impressions or the interplay of different senses .

Café dark

House of the forest

This environmental education center in cooperation with the Lower Saxony State Forests shows a primeval forest with an anthill and an animal voice organ, here a forester answers questions about nature and the environment on weekdays.

NABU environmental pyramid

NABU's environmental pyramid

The regional environmental education center (RUZ) NABU environmental pyramid Bremervörde was originally built as a prototype of an unconventional low-energy house for the purpose of demonstrating environmentally and resource-saving construction based on the design of the architect Lothar Tabery on behalf of the Lower Saxony regional association of the German Nature Conservation Union and has since served as an environmental education center. It offers suggestions for saving energy at home and various exhibitions. On the outside area there is a nature trail that leads along a moor , an orchard meadow and a renatured stream. The pyramid is the starting point for guided tours into the surrounding area, through the floodplains of the Oste , which flows largely in its natural state south of Bremervörde, through forests, through the Teufelsmoor or to the nature trail through the Huvenhoopsmoor .

Environmental education

In cooperation with regional actors such as the Regional Environmental Education Center (RUZ) NABU Umweltpyramid, the Lower Saxony State Forests, the Ostel Jugendhotel Bremervörde , holistic, age-appropriate educational programs are offered for school trips. In multi-dimensional learning , perceptual and sensory experiences in the world of the senses or the Café Dunkel are combined with the possibility of active encounters with nature in the NABU environmental pyramid and the House of the Forest .
