NaturTherme Templin

The NaturThermeTemplin is a thermal and leisure pool opened in 2000 in Templin , a town in the Uuckmarket in the northeast of the state of Brandenburg . It is a health resort and recreation facility of national importance and particularly focused on families.

location

The Templiner thermal bath is located southeast of the city on Dargersdorfer Straße , not far from the Elsternest settlement and the Postheim district . It was built on an open area on the edge of the Buchheide , a forest area east of the thermal baths and south or west of the Lübbe lake , which belongs to the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve . There are some source tributaries of the Hammerfließ , which flows into the Lübbesee, in the vicinity .

The NaturTherme Templin is about two kilometers from the city train station and connected to it by Dargersdorfer Straße. A rail connection from Templin now only exists to the southwest via Zehdenick in the direction of Löwenberg (Mark) , the further lines in other directions have been closed. The road connection from downtown Templin is well developed. The further course of the road in the direction of Dargersdorf on the edge of a nature reserve, on the other hand, is in poor condition from the location of the "Uckermark Rehabilitation Clinic" built in 1995 400 meters southeast of the thermal baths.

Creation and operation

According to a health resort development concept commissioned by the city of Templin in 1994, a profile was designed as a health resort and bath center with the remedies thermal sole and moor . Uwe Mohr, who came from Heiligenhafen , became managing director of Kurortentwicklungsgesellschaft Templin mbH , founded in 1996 . In the same year, the first thermal brine was extracted from a depth of 1,650 meters. After the Europe-wide tender for the creation of an "adventure and health thermal bath", in which nine architectural offices took part in April 1997, the local company KT Invest Consulting GmbH Templin was awarded the contract with the design by the architect Wolfgang Grieger . With the receipt of the building permit, the groundbreaking ceremony for the NaturTherme Templin took place in July 1998 , and the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on November 14, 1999 .

In the presence of the CDU federal chairwoman and later Chancellor Angela Merkel , the thermal baths were opened on November 11, 2000 after a two-year construction period as a facility of the city of Templin. Of the total construction costs of 36 million euros, 27 million euros were grants from the European Union, the federal government and the state of Brandenburg to promote tourism in the structurally weak region. In the first two years after the opening, around 400,000 guests came to the thermal baths, in the following years the number of visitors fell to around 300,000, in 2005 even less, which was also due to the increasing number of similar facilities in the state of Brandenburg. In the 2002 financial year, the thermal baths had an annual deficit of 195,219.04 euros with sales of 4.7 million euros.

Together with numerous structural defects that are becoming increasingly clear, such as the unusability of the fitness area due to leaks , the repair of which cost several million euros, this led to an existence-threatening crisis in 2004/2005. On April 8, 2004, Uwe Mohr was dismissed as managing director by the supervisory board; Bernd Zimdar, city councilor for many years, took over the office temporarily. After great efforts and an additional loan, the city of Templin was able to raise the nine million euros required for the renovation and to avert an application for bankruptcy. The thermal baths had to be closed from April to December 2006 during the renovation and renovation work. It reopened on December 22, 2006.

NaturThermeTemplin GmbH , which emerged from the former Kurortentwicklungsgesellschaft Templin mbH, is the client, owner and operator of the Templin thermal baths . The main shareholder is the city of Templin, which owns 100 percent of the thermal baths. In March 2007, Kurt Stroß was awarded the new Managing Director position advertised on January 1, 2005. The catering facilities in the thermal baths were leased to perfect medien- und industriemarketing gmbh from Rostock . Without taking into account the catering establishments, 40 people are employed in the thermal baths.

Every year between 250,000 and 300,000 visitors are counted, in the first ten years around 2.8 million guests came. Surveys of the thermal bath users showed that, in addition to Brandenburgers, around 30 percent of the visitors come from Berlin , 11 percent from the neighboring Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and 7 percent from other federal states , some of them being guests of hotels in the city of Templin that offer the NaturTherme market with. According to the operating company, the cost recovery rate is 108.45 percent. In 2005, the operator was the first German wellness provider to be awarded the “Wellness im Kurort” seal of approval for all wellness offers by the German Health Baths Association. V. awarded, on April 22, 2007 by the same association for three special offers the seal of approval "Prevention in health resorts".

In the spring of 2017, the construction of a motorhome parking lot with 47 spaces behind the parking lot of the sauna area began in order to attract more guests in the weaker summer months. It was put into operation on July 1st of that year.

description

Sauna garden

The NaturThermeTemplin is a family-oriented thermal brine bath with a separate sauna area . The building and the outdoor area of the thermal baths were extensively renovated and partially rebuilt in 2006 due to the obvious construction defects. On a built-up area of 9514 m² there is a bathing area and a sauna area, each with separate outdoor areas, as well as a therapy and wellness center .

Thermal water

The Templiner thermal brine is extracted from a depth of 1650 meters, with a temperature of 57.7 ° C and a salt content of 15%. The salt concentrations of the brine when used in baths and therapy are from one to six percent at temperatures of 32 ° C to 36 ° C. The thermal brine, prepared for medical purposes, received expert certification as a local medicinal product under the supervision of a licensed specialist pharmacist by the Laborunion Prof. Höll & Co. GmbH laboratory in Bad Elster and meets the strict requirements of the German Medicines Act (AMG).

The iodide content of the brine water is 5.0 mg / l, above the balneological minimum value of 1.0 mg / l, which is why it is classified as "iodine-containing thermal brine ". The water temperature at the company entrance is around 26 ° C and thus clearly exceeds the minimum value of 20 ° C specified for a thermal bath when it exits the well head. The water is supposed to promote mobility and blood circulation as well as positive effects in the case of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, the respiratory tract and skin diseases. As a remedy, the brine has a blood pressure lowering effect.

The Templiner thermal brine has the following mineral water components:

Anions Cations
