Criticism of Mario party games
After Hudson Soft, which developed all the games in the Mario Party series up to and including Mario Party 8, was taken over by Konami , NDcube took over the development of the series. After they released Mario Party 9, Mario Party 10, Mario Party: Island Tour, Mario Party: Star Rush and Mario Party: The Top 100 , some players in the series developed a critical attitude towards NDcube. The reason for this was striking changes in the game mechanics compared to the games from Hudson Soft, which were controversial among the fans. NDcube has also received mixed reviews for this in the press. The newest Mario Party game, Super Mario Party, is now more based on the classic games.
