Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development ( Japanese 任天堂 企 画 制作 本部 , Nintendō Kikaku Seisaku Honbu , German "Nintendō planning and development department"), abbreviated Nintendo EPD is the largest in-house video game studio of the Japanese video game manufacturer Nintendo . It was created in September 2015 from the merger of Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development (EAD) and the Nintendo Software Planning & Development Division (SPD).
history
The Nintendo EPD was created on September 16, 2015 as a result of the internal restructuring of Nintendos by the new President Tatsumi Kimishima with a merger of Nintendo EAD and Nintendo SPD.
Since then, Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development has formed the largest development studio in Nintendo and merged the two formerly largest development studios. As General Manager Shinya Takahashi has since been used, the previously selbige position held at Nintendo SPD. While the former General Manager of Nintendo EAD Shigeru Miyamoto now holds the position of Creative Fellow , Takashi Tezuka remained as Executive Officer at Nintendo EPD.
