criticism

In 2005 Güçlü accused the Islam-critical sociologist and author Necla Kelek of "exaggeration" because " honor killings have [nothing] to do with the Turkish-Islamic identity" . Kelek only “discovered a niche in the market and wants to get money out of it.” On the occasion of an “honor killing” in Hamburg in May 2008, Kelek stated in a comment in the Hamburger Abendblatt : “Today she speaks very differently and pretends to have the topic in 2005 discovered and appears as the savior of the forced-married " . However, in her criticism, Kelek overlooks the fact that Güçlü, for example, on April 2, 2005, denounced the trivialization of “violence against women, forced marriage and honor killings” in a name contribution for the Hamburger Abendblatt under the title “Forced marriage!” And improved protection for those affected demanded. Before that, she had already submitted a small request to the Hamburg Senate on March 24, 2005, and a corresponding application in June 2005 to the citizenship.

On January 18, 2015, Güçlü appeared as a speaker at an event organized by the Federation of Turkish Democratic Idealist Associations in Germany (ADÜTDF) in Hamburg. The association forms the main platform of the gray wolves in Germany and has been listed in the report on the protection of the constitution since 2004 because of alien extremism. According to his own statement, Güçlü was not aware who was behind the ADÜTDF, especially since the invitation was only verbal. Despite criticism from clubs and the party leadership, Güçlü refused to withdraw her candidacy at number 25 on the state list for the 2015 general election. Thereupon the state board of the Greens Hamburg initiated a party exclusion procedure against them, which was decided before the regional arbitration court. It decided against her exclusion at the end of March.

At the end of March 2015, the German Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband in Hamburg resigned Güçlü's job as a migration officer at the end of April without giving any reason. Güçlü had been working at the umbrella association for independent welfare since June 2011, advising and supporting migrant self-organizations. She filed a dismissal protection suit against the decision . The process ended in a settlement.

In autumn 2016 she was criticized for her contacts with the chairman of the Ottomans Germania Hamburg.
