The Neue Regensburger Hütte is a medium-sized alpine club hut in the Stubai Alps with 27 room and 56 mattress dormitories and a small winter camp . It belongs to the Regensburg section of the German Alpine Club and stands on a steep step above the Falbesoner Ochsenalm . The so-called Hohe Moos follows behind the hut .
history
The Neue Regensburger Hütte was built by the Regensburg section of the German and Austrian Alpine Club in 1930 to replace the Regensburger Hütte in the Geisler group of the Dolomites , which was lost in the wake of the First World War . It was opened on August 16, 1931. After the Second World War, the hut fell to the Austrian Alpine Club in 1945 . In 1956 the hut was returned to the Regensburg Section, which was newly founded in 1948. Various modernizations followed, including the supply of running water, an expansion of the toilets and an initial expansion of the building. A material ropeway that leads from Falbeson to the hut has been securing supplies since 1961. In 1967 the hut was expanded a second time - this time considerably. Among other things, a hydropower plant has been providing the necessary energy since then. In 2014 the hut, in which the rooms from the time of construction have been preserved in their original state, was placed under monument protection.
In 2019 the hut received a wooden extension designed by Rainer Köberl . The slim wooden structure is connected to the main building and accommodates a total of 48 beds in two and four-bed rooms. Overall, the number of beds has remained the same at 101. In place of the old construction hut from the 1930s, the mountain station of the material cable car moved, which has been upgraded and now allows restricted passenger traffic.
