The Dresdner Hut is located on the Stubai High Trail below the Stubai Glacier . It can also be reached with the Stubai Glacier Railway. It is visited both in summer by hikers and in winter by skiers. A children's playground and an après-ski bar are part of the hut. The rooms are of a high standard with multiple showers available.
history
The Dresdner Hütte was inaugurated in 1875 as the first refuge in the Stubai Valley . In 1887 the first hut was replaced by a new building at its current location, which has been expanded and renovated several times. From 1945 to 1956 the hut was in the hands of Austrian administrative bodies, as the Dresden section was deleted from the register of associations in Dresden ( re-established in Wuppertal in 1953 ). The Dresdner Hütte has been accessible via the Stubai Glacier Railway since 1973. In 1990 the guest rooms and the pantry and kitchen rooms were expanded. In 2002, the large mattress warehouse was converted into a modern room, with fire protection systems being installed and a fire-proof staircase being built. The hut has had a central block storage heater since 2006. The last renovation so far (sleeping house, tenant apartment, drying and ski room) took place in 2008. Furthermore, the fire protection facilities were expanded.
