Neuhof is a wasteland in the Upper Franconian town of Bad Staffelstein in the Lichtenfels district .

geography

Neuhof is located about nine kilometers southwest of Lichtenfels , in the north of a long triangle between Itz and Main . The place is to the west at the foot of the Banzer Mountains. The state road 2204 from Bad Staffelstein to Seßlach leads south past the place. The Eierberge tunnel on the Nuremberg – Erfurt high-speed line runs to the west .

history

The first mention of Neuhof was in a copy book entry in the 17th century for the year 1412. According to this, the Würzburg Dompropstei in Banzgau owned the tithe of "Neuenhoff". About 1,448 were among the compulsory labor of the so-called little Höfleins to Gleußen hay and grain carts from "New Hoff" to Kloster Banz . In 1520 "Newenhoff" belonged to the parish Altenbanz . In 1569 the Banzian court houses were visited, including "Zum Neuenhoff". In 1801 Neuhof belonged to the Banz monastery and was parish off to Altenbanz. In 1854 Max Joseph bought the property in Bavaria . In 1862 the rural community of Nedensdorf and its town of Neuhof were incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Staffelstein .

In 1871 Neuhof had 17 residents and nine buildings. The Catholic school was in Nedensdorf , 3.5 kilometers away , and the Catholic Church in Banz Monastery, 3.5 kilometers away. In 1900 the rural community of Nedensdorf comprised an area of ​​540.07 hectares, 264 inhabitants, all of whom were Catholic, and 48 residential buildings. 15 people lived in Neuhof in two residential buildings. In 1925 10 people lived in two residential buildings, in 1950 there were 13 residents and two residential buildings. The responsible Protestant parish was in Herreth. In 1970 the desert had nine residents and in 1987 four residents and two residential buildings.

On July 1, 1972, Nedensdorf merged with its district of Neuhof and the neighboring communities of Altenbanz, Stadel , Unnersdorf and parts of Weingarten to form the new community of Banz , which was dissolved on January 1, 1978 and incorporated into the town of Staffelstein. Since then Neuhof has belonged to Staffelstein.

On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved and Neuhof was incorporated into the Lichtenfels district.
