The New Brunswick Route 7 is a highway in the Canadian province of New Brunswick . The route begins in Fredericton and ends in Saint John . It is part of the National Highway System , where the route serves as the core route. The entire route is developed as a freeway.

The route begins in Fredericton , the capital of the province, south of the city center; it crosses Route 8 immediately after the start . After almost 6 km it meets Route 2 and runs along with it in an easterly direction for about 8 km. South of Oromocto the two highways separate again, Route 7 runs south. It leads through the CFB Gagetown military training area and leaves it again at Welsford . Continuing south, the route meets Route 1 west of Saint John and ends there.
