Nicole Parker
Nicole Frances Parker (born February 21, 1978 in Irvine , California ) is an American actress and musical artist who is best known for her work in skits on the FOX comedy show MADtv .
Life
In her hometown, she worked at the South Coast Repertory and the Laguna Playhouse . She studied theater and voice at Indiana University , where she played in an improvisation group. After university, Parker worked at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and later in Chicago on the improv stage play The second City . Nicole and some college friends also started a theater company in New York called Waterwell Productions . Parker then moved to Amsterdam for two years , where she again gained experience in comedy shows.
In 2003 Nicole Parker appeared for the first time as a performer on MADtv . She was finally added to the official cast and has since been a permanent member of MADtv , where she embodies the following celebrities, among others: Britney Spears , Ellen DeGeneres , Paula Abdul , Kathy Griffin , Ashlee Simpson , Jessica Simpson , Hillary Clinton , Joy Behar , Kelly Clarkson , Rachael Ray , Kim Kardashian and many more.
When Parker started her fifth season on MADtv in 2007, she was the longest on MADtv's team since starring Stephnie Weir . She has also played some celebrities in parodies more often since 2008, for example in the film My Wife, the Spartans and I , where she was seen as Paris Hilton , Britney Spears , Ellen DeGeneres and Paula Abdul . In 2009, she officially left the MADtv team to focus on her Broadway career.
Broadway
In 2004 Parker was nominated for a Jeff Award for her role in People vs. Friar Laurence, The Man Who Killed Romeo and Juliet . From July 2006 to January 2007 she was seen in the comedy musical Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me . On January 16, 2009, Parker took on the role of Elpaba in the Broadway musical Wicked - The Witches of Oz . She played there until July 19, 2009 and was then replaced by Dee Roscioli .
