history

In 2009, Holland-America Line ordered a sister ship of the Eurodam from Fincantieri . The ship was undocked on October 30, 2009. In June 2010 the Nieuw Amsterdam was delivered and started sailing under the flag of the Netherlands with her home port Rotterdam . Baptized by Queen Maxima in Venice on July 4th, 2010 , before setting off on its maiden cruise on July 5th, 2010 . There is space for 2106 passengers on board.
