Nik Schweiger
Nikolaus "Nik" Schweiger (born October 4, 1965 in Heuchelheim ) is a German interior architect and designer. He worked for Matteo Thun and Philippe Starck and has received numerous awards for his work.
Life
Nik Schweiger grew up as the youngest of three brothers in Heuchelheim and attended the Gießen Herderschule , where his father Herbert Schweiger was a high school teacher. His mother worked as a history teacher. He is the brother of the actor Til Schweiger . After graduating from the comprehensive school in Gießen-Ost in 1985, Nik Schweiger did his community service before he began studying interior design at the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences in 1987 , which he graduated as a Dipl.-Ing. Interior design completed.

During his community service he already worked as part of various internships and temporary jobs, partly also independently, in interior design, especially in the field of shop and exhibition construction and lighting planning. From 1992 to 1994 he worked first for Philippe Starck in Paris and then for Matteo Thun in Milan.
Foundation of 3deluxe
In 1992 Nik Schweiger founded 3deluxe together with the communication designers Andreas and Stephan Lauhoff . With his fourth partner Dieter Brell, he managed 3deluxe Interior in Wiesbaden and realized a large number of internationally recognized and award-winning projects with 3deluxe, such as the scape youth media worlds at Expo 2000 , the Cocoon Club or the Cyberhelvetiapavilion at Expo.02 . He also worked on the design of the Leonardo Glass Cube.
3deluxe biorhythm
Inspired by his own rehab at the end of the 1990s, he followed the approach of Biorhythm – Modern Recreation, i.e. regeneration in biorhythm, from 2005 under the Berlin label 3deluxe Biorhythm together with his then wife Soryonne . Behind this is a philosophical and spatial design principle that focuses on recreation, design and sustainability and in which natural, social and creative-artistic ideas flow together to form an overall spatial concept.
In line with this concept, Nik Schweiger designed the roof structure of the Roomers design hotel in Frankfurt am Main . In October 2010, Roomers received the award for the best hotel property of the year. In addition, he was named German Interior Designer of the Year 2009 because of his Biorhythm Modern Recreation concept and the course of his vita.
Other Projects
Based on the Roomers project, he launched an exclusive biorhythm sauna in cooperation with the Klafs company in 2009. Further projects followed in the years 2009 to 2012. Among other things, he developed the Floating Lounge with UWE Jetstreams, which was presented at Interbad in 2010. In 2012, Nik Schweiger designed the Biorhythm Aphrodite lamp with Zumboldt. This was presented at the Light & Building . He also worked on a home recreation base with Villeroy & Boch .
He also gave several scientific lectures. Among other things, he spoke at the Deutsche Telekom Innovation Day 2010 and the German Innovation Summit for Sustainability 2011.
Barefoot design
Together with his brother Til Schweiger , he founded Barefoot design in 2014. The interior architecture and design company pursues a concept that relies on unusual atmospheres. In addition, his works and artworks are inspired by natural phenomena. Among other things, he realized the 8sec. Home cinema showroom, completed in 2013. Furthermore, Nik Schweiger designed the interior for the Benkon showroom in Cumberland Berlin in 2014 . In Munich he staged the new I8 for the BMW Museum with the help of the APHRODITE lamp.
