society

Gjorgjev began his career at FC Wettingen . In 2008 he joined the youth of the Grasshopper Club Zurich . In August 2013 he made his debut for the GCZ U-21 team in the first division when he came on as a substitute for Nikola Stevanović on the second match day of the 2013/14 season against FC Concordia Basel in the 77th minute.

He scored his first goal for the U-21 team in October 2014 in a 4-3 win against FC Baden . In February 2015 he was in the professional squad for the first time against FC Basel . He made his debut in the Super League in March 2015 when he was brought into play for Yoric Ravet in the 77th minute against FC Thun on matchday 24 of the 2014/15 season . In August 2015 he scored his first goal in the top Swiss league against FC Vaduz .

For the season 2017/18 he was for two years in the Netherlands at FC Twente Enschede awarded. After only two appearances in the Eredivisie , he was awarded in February 2018 to the Swiss second division club FC Aarau , which also received an option for another engagement. However, this option was not drawn and Gjorgjev left Aarau at the end of the season.

It was then unclear whether the midfielder would return to GCZ or to the now second-rate FC Twente, which had loaned him for another year.

Gjorgjev played for a Swiss national team for the first time in 2012: In May 2012 he was used in the U-15 game against Slovakia . In the same year he also played for the U-16 team for the first time . He made his first game for the Swiss U-17 team in March 2014 against Russia . Between 2014 and 2016 he was also used for the U-18 and U-19 selections in Switzerland.

In April 2016, the son of Macedonian parents decided to play for their home country. He made his debut for Macedonia's senior team in May 2016 when he came on for Aleksandar Trajkovski in the 59th minute of a friendly against Azerbaijan . He played his first competitive game for Macedonia in September 2016, when he replaced Ferhan Hasani in the 74th minute of the World Cup qualifier against Albania .

With the U-21 team of Macedonia he took part in the European Championship in 2017 . Gjorgjev was used in all three games of the Macedonians, who were the last in Group B to be eliminated in the preliminary round, and scored a goal against Serbia .
