Nobleboro is a town in Lincoln County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010 there were 1643 inhabitants in 714 households on an area of 59.85 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Nobleboro has a total area of 72.16 km², of which 42.66 km² is land and 29.5 km² consists of water .
Geographical location
Nobleboro is centrally located in Lincoln County. In the west the area of the town is bordered by Damariscotta Lake , in the east the Duckpuddle Pond and in the south the Pemaquid Pond . The surface is flat, without any significant elevations.

history
Nobleborough was part of the land that was part of the Pemaquid patent. Elbridge and Aldsworth owned the Pemaquid patent, a land grant. Settlement of parts of the area started around 1640. Since the area was an important hunting and fishing area for the Indians, they remained even after the first settlements of Europeans. Even after the end of the Indian wars, controversies persisted about the country, which was only settled after 1814.
The town of Nobleborough was organized on November 20, 1788 and named after Colonel Arthur Noble, who died in the Battle of Midas in 1747. Parts of Bristol were added in 1815. Damariscotta was also part of the Nobleboro area until 1847.

There are no medical facilities or hospitals in Nobleboro. The closest are in Damariscotta and Waldoboro.

education
Nobleboro is part of the Central Lincoln County School System, AOS 93 , along with Bremen, Bristol, Damariscotta, Jefferson, Newcastle and South Bristol . Secondary schools are not offered by the school district, schools of choice can be attended, the costs are borne by the municipalities. Most of the students attend the private Lincoln Academy in Newcastle .
