Norbert Geipel

Norbert Geipel (born November 19, 1928 in Bad Brambach , Vogtland ) is a former German politician ( SED ). He was a candidate for the Central Committee of the SED and for over a quarter of a century he was Secretary for Agriculture of the SED's Neubrandenburg district leadership .

Life

Geipel, son of a railway worker and a seamstress, attended elementary school from 1935 to 1939 , then from 1939 to 1947 the secondary school in Oelsnitz . In 1947 he passed his Abitur there. From July 1945 to January 1946 he worked first as a farm worker, then in 1947/48 as an agricultural intern in Bad Brambach. From September 1948 to 1950 he studied at the Agricultural Faculty of the University of Greifswald , then from 1950 to June 1951 at the Agricultural Faculty of the University of Halle . He completed his studies as a qualified farmer.

In May 1949 he became a candidate, and four years later, in May 1953, he became a member of the SED. From September 1951 to April 1952 he worked as a consultant in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Brandenburg State Government . From April to August 1952 he worked as an agricultural clerk at the Deutsche Bauernbank , Landesstelle Halle. From August to October 1952 he was a control officer at the Deutsche Bauernbank, Leipzig district office , and then from November 1952 to May 1953 a consultant at the headquarters of the Deutsche Bauernbank in Berlin .

From June to December 1953 Geipel worked as a senior consultant, from January 1954 to March 1955 as a department head in the LPG main administration in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the GDR . From March 1955 to March 1956 he studied agricultural policy at the Central School of the Central Committee in Schwerin . From March 1956 to November 1961 he was an instructor in the agriculture department, from November 1961 to February 1963 he was then head of Sector II, responsible for the problems of the economics of socialist farms. From February to May 1964 he was briefly deputy head of the Agriculture Department in the Central Committee of the SED. In 1963/64 he also belonged to the editorial collective of the magazine Neuer Weg .

From June 1964 to November 1989 Geipel acted as Secretary for Agriculture of the Neubrandenburg District Management of the SED. From 1967 to 1989 he was a member of the Neubrandenburg district assembly .

From April 1970 to 1971 he studied at the party college of the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow . From June 1971 to December 1989, Geipel was a candidate for the Central Committee of the SED.

As a candidate for the Central Committee of the SED, Geipel headed several delegations abroad, for example in November 1973 a delegation that was in Belgrade at the invitation of the Presidium of the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia (BdKJ) and was received by Budislav Šoškić and followed by a delegation in June 1986 Bissau , who was received by Tiago Aleluia Lopes , member of the Politburo of the African Independence Party of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC). Geipel also belonged to the SED delegation, which in December 1986 the VI. Attended Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Hanoi .
