Norbert José Henri Turini (born August 30, 1954 in Cannes ) is Bishop of Perpignan-Elne .

Life

After finishing school, Norbert Turini first took up a degree in biology at the University of Nice , which he graduated with a diploma. Then Turini entered the interdiocesan seminary in Marseille and studied Catholic theology and philosophy . On June 27, 1982, the Bishop of Nice , Jean-Julien-Robert Mouisset , ordained him to the priesthood . In 1985 he obtained a degree in theology from the theological faculty of the University of Strasbourg .

Then he was from 1982 to 1986 adjunct in the diocesan service for vocations and 1986-1996 also in charge of the house Sant-Paul for Christian students and the preparatory course (preparatory year) of the seminary. From 1996 to 2000 he was episcopal vicar for youth ministry and from 1999 to 2000 he was also parish administrator of the parish of Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Nice . in 2000 he was appointed vicar general for the diocese of Nice. Pope John Paul II awarded him the title of Honorary Prelate of His Holiness on April 5, 2001 .

On June 30, 2004, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Cahors . The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Toulouse , Émile Marcus PSS , on October 10 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Jean Bonfils SMA , Bishop of Nice, and Alain Planet , Bishop of Carcassonne .

As a motto he chose Aimer, Évangéliser, Servir . His episcopal coat of arms shows the Madonna of Rocamadour , the largest place of pilgrimage in the diocese.

On October 18, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Perpignan-Elne and until his assumption of office, which is scheduled for January 18, 2015, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Cahors . The inauguration took place on January 18 of the following year.
