Norwegian Air International is an Irish low-cost airline based in Dublin and based at Dublin Airport . It is a subsidiary of Norwegian Air Shuttle .

history

Norwegian Air International was founded in 2014 to use the Open Skies Agreement to operate flights to the USA . In February 2014, Norwegian Air International received an Operating License and Air Operator Certificate under Irish law. This gave her EU traffic rights .

Criticism of the plans came primarily from the USA but also from European airlines such as Air France , KLM and Lufthansa . One of the reasons for this was the opening of a recruiting office in Singapore to recruit Thai on- board personnel. The companies' chief executive officers then wrote a letter of complaint to the European Commission .

From 2017 long-haul flights from Ireland and Northern Ireland to the USA with Boeing 737 MAX 8 should be offered. The first two machines that are leased were delivered on June 29, 2017.
