O Rosal (official name in Galician language ; Spanish El Rosal ) is a Spanish municipality in the comarca of O Baixo Miño in the province of Pontevedra , Galicia .
economy
The economic image of O Rosal is characterized by agriculture, forestry and coastal fishing. The municipality is known for its wines, which are part of the Denominación of the Rías Baixas .
history
Cave paintings from the Paleolithic and traces of the Bronze Age have been found in O Rosal . The so-called Castro culture dominated the region.
During the Middle Ages , O Rosal belonged to the Cistercian monastery of Santa María la Real de Oia .
In 1847 the community was founded, which meant the official split from A Guarda . In 1879 Alfonso XII awarded O Rosal the town charter.
