Odoardo Tabacchi (born December 19, 1831 in Valganna , † March 23, 1905 in Milan ) was an Italian sculptor.

Life

From 1845 Odoardo Tabacchi studied sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. He also worked in the studios of Pietro Magni and Abbondio Sangiorgio and attended courses with Benedetto Cacciatori . He won a scholarship that allowed him to continue his studies in Florence , Rome and Naples . In 1860 he returned to Milan and opened his own studio. In 1867 he succeeded Vincenzo Velas as professor of sculpture at the Accademia Albertina in Turin . There Giuseppe Grandi , Luigi Belli , Davide Calandra , Leonardo Bistolfi and Pietro Canonica were among his students. Tabacchi showed his work at exhibitions in Parma , Turin, Rome, Milan and Naples, among others , as well as at the world exhibitions in Paris (1867) and Vienna (1873) .
