Olaf Pooley , actually Ole Krohn Pooley , (born March 13, 1914 in Parkstone , Poole , Dorset , England , † July 14, 2015 in Los Angeles ) was a British actor and screenwriter .

Olaf Pooley was born in Parkstone, a borough of Poole, in 1914 to a British father and a Danish mother. First he studied architecture in London , then art at the Académie Colarossi in Paris , where he was a student of Marcel Gromaire . After graduating, he initially participated as an active painter in various art exhibitions across Europe. Pooley later turned to acting and got a permanent job at Pinewood Studios . He then appeared on the theatrical stages in London's West End in various Shakespeare plays such as Othello and The Tempest and as an actor in other media such as film and television.

As a television actor, Pooley has appeared in many British and American television series since the 1950s, including Jason King , MacGyver, and Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager . In 1970 he played the double role as Stahlmann in the fourth season of the Doctor Who series in seven episodes. In addition, Pooley also began to work as a screenwriter and wrote the screenplay for the 1971 horror film Melting Pot of Horror (Original: The Corpse ), in which Michael Gough and Yvonne Mitchell played the leading roles. In 1979 the film Horror Baby (The Godsend) was released based on his script. In 1982, the TV movie Robbers of the Sacred Mountain , also known as The Lost Treasure of Cavette, followed . Another, but unmentioned, involvement as a screenwriter had Pooley in 1985 in the science fiction film Lifeforce - The Deadly Menace .

In 1946, Pooley married actress Irlin Hall. With her he had two children, the actress Kirstie Pooley (* 1954) and the comedian Seyton Pooley. After separating from Hall, Pooley married director Gabrielle Beaumont in 1982 . He later lived separately from his second wife. In 1986 Pooley immigrated to the United States and has lived in Southern California ever since . There he began to be active again as a painter and opened his own art studio in Santa Monica . Since Zohra Segal's death , Pooley was the oldest Doctor Who actor still alive at 100 years old . Pooley was friends with actor Alec Guinness until his death in 2000.

Olaf Pooley died on July 14, 2015 at the age of 101.
