Oleg Anatoljewitsch Dawydow ( Russian Олег Анатольевич Давыдов ; born March 16, 1971 in Chelyabinsk , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian ice hockey player and current ice hockey coach .

Career

Until 1989 Dawydow ran for Metallurg Tscheljabinsk . In 1989 he was signed by city rival HK Traktor Chelyabinsk . In 1995 he switched to HK Lada Tolyatti . With Lada, the defender became CIS champion in 1996 . He also won the European Cup in 1996 . Then the defender played for HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , where he became Russian champion in 2001 , again for HK Traktor Tscheljabinsk and Lokomotive Yaroslavl .

International

Davydov was in his country's squad at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , where he finished fourth with the Russian national team.

As a junior player, he took part in the 1989 European Championship for the Soviet Union and won the gold medal.
