Olga Zimina ( Russian Ольга Анатольевна Зимина , Olga Simina ; born May 14, 1982 in Vladimir , Soviet Union) is an Italian chess player .

Life

In 2004 she graduated with honors from the Vladimir State Pedagogical University in Psychology. From 1999 to 2004 she gave chess lessons to children in Vladimir. In 2004 she married an Italian and moved to Modena . The two have a daughter. Since 2005 she has been giving chess lessons for children and young people in Modena. She has been playing for the Italian Chess Federation since 2006.

successes

She received chess lessons from an early age. She won the Russian U10 girls' championship in 1992. In the same year she was second in the U10 world championship for women in Duisburg . In 1997 she was Russian U18 and 1998 in Essentuki U16 champion. In 1999 she won the International Admiralteysky Tournament in Leningrad . In 2000 she finished second behind Xu Yuanyuan at the U20 Girls ' World Cup in Yerevan . Her greatest success in Russia was winning the 2001 Russian Women's Individual Championship in Elista . She won the Italian women's individual championship for the first time in 2017 in Cosenza in a tie-break against the tied Marina Brunello .

She became International Women's Champion (WIM) in November 2000. She has held the title of Women's Grand Master (WGM) since October 2003. She achieved the standards for the WGM title at the 51st Russian Women's Championship in 2001 in Elista, at the 52nd. Russian Women's Championship 2002, also in Elista, at the 7th European Women's Club Cup 2002 in Antalya and at the 2003 Women's European Championship in Silivri . She has held the title of International Master (IM) since November 2008, and she achieved the standards for the IM title at the 46th Torneo di Capodanno 2008 in Reggio nell'Emilia and the European Women's Championship in Plovdiv in 2008 . In February 2015 she leads the Italian Elo ranking of women, with her highest Elo rating of 2430 she was 30th in the women's world rankings in July 2004.

National team

With the Russian women's national team, she played two country comparisons against China in 2001 and 2004. For the Italian women's national team, she took part in the Chess Olympiads in 2006 , 2008 , 2010 , 2012 and 2014 as well as in the European Team Championships in 2009, 2011 , 2013 and 2015. Since 2008 she has participated in all nine Mitropa Cups for women. She won in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2014 both with the team and in the individual ranking of her board (2008, 2010 and 2011 on the second board, 2014 on the first board).

She plays club chess in Italy for Club 64 di Modena . With the club Lentransgas Saint Petersburg she won the Russian women's team championship in 2001 and 2002 . At the European Women's Club Cup 2001 in Belgrade , playing for Saint Petersburg , she received an individual silver medal for her result of 3.5 points from 5 games on the fourth board. She took part in the 2002 Women's Club Cup in Antalya for Ladya Kazan , the team took second place, to which her victory in the last round against Antoaneta Stefanova, who was then 125 Elo points higher, contributed. Further participations in the European Club Cup for women followed in 2003 with Saint Petersburg , 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016 with ASD CS R. Fischer Chieti . In 2016, she achieved the third-best individual result on the second board.
