The men's long jump at the 1908 London Olympics was decided on July 22, 1908 at the White City Stadium . In the morning of the same day, a qualification took place, from which three jumpers qualified for the final with three more jumps.
The qualification was held in five staggered groups. The results of these groups were combined. Only the best three jumpers in the qualification - highlighted in green - were able to contest the final competition. The results achieved in the preliminary fight were included in the overall ranking. In both the qualification and the final, the participants had three attempts each.

The Irishman Timothy Ahearne, who started for Great Britain, took a disappointing eighth place. Two weeks later he reached a distance of 7.57 m.
