The Thai team took part in the 1988 Summer Olympics in the South Korean capital Seoul with a delegation of 14 athletes - two women and twelve men - in twelve competitions in four sports.

Standard bearer

The Skeet shooter Somchai Chanthavanich led to the Thai Olympic team at the opening ceremony as the standard-bearer.

For the first time a beauty queen accompanied the athletes: Porntip Nakhirunkanok , Miss Universe 1988 , moved into the Olympic Stadium with the Thai team during the opening ceremony .
