The men's downhill skiing at the 1992 Winter Olympics was held on February 9th on La face de Bellevarde in Val-d'Isère . The difference in altitude between the start and finish was 973 meters and was 3.048 kilometers long.

Olympic champion was the Austrian Patrick Ortlieb , ahead of Franck Piccard from France and his compatriot Günther Mader , who won bronze.
