One-Two-Go was a Thai low-cost airline based in Bangkok and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Orient Thai Airlines .

history

One-Two-Go began flying on December 3, 2003. The first route was Bangkok - Chiang Mai , where the parent company Orient Thai Airlines has its home airport . Most recently, it offered 168 flights a week to different destinations and employed just under 650 people. In the medium term, up to ten MD-82s should be used. In mid-May 2007 it was announced that One-two-Go 14 would take over MD-81 from Japan Airlines and would like to expand internationally.

From July 22, 2008, flight operations were suspended until September 15, 2008, as the airline announced on its website. Essentially, the increased cost pressure is given as the official reason. According to other reports, the airline has been banned from flying due to an investigation. There is a suspicion of disregard of safety regulations. At the beginning of 2009, flight operations were resumed on the routes Bangkok ( Don Mueang ) to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai , Hat Yai , Phuket and more recently to Trang .

In April 2009 the airline was added to the black list of the European Union, this ban was lifted on July 14, 2009.

Since the One-Two-Go fleet was transferred to the parent company Orient Thai Airlines in 2010 , it has been serving the previous One-Two-Go routes in its own name.

fleet

In autumn 2010 the fleet of five McDonnell Douglas MD-82s of the One-Two-GO was integrated into that of the parent company Orient Thai Airlines.

Incidents

  • On September 16, 2007, a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-82 of One-Two-Go Airlines ( aircraft registration HS-OMG ) initiated a go- around shortly before landing at Phuket Airport , but this failed because the thrust went to idle . The machine crashed on the ground next to the runway , broke in two and caught fire. There were 130 occupants (123 of them passengers) on board, 90 of whom did not survive this accident (see also flight OG 269 ) .
