Opfertshofen (SH) is a former political municipality in the canton of Schaffhausen in Switzerland .
The border between Germany and Switzerland runs to the west .
history
In 830, a Hiltibert transferred the Otbertihoba property to the St. Gallen monastery . In the late Middle Ages, the Counts of Lupfen came into possession of the place. In 1507 Opfertshofen was transferred to the Paradies monastery, but in 1529 they sold it to Schaffhausen . The parishes of the lower Reiat merged in 1867 to form a parish independent of wages . The seal and today's coat of arms was first proven in 1819.
From the 1920s to the 50s, a motorcycle was in Opfertshofen mountain race instead. On an unpaved road, this hill climb was also called Little Klausen , after the famous hill climb on the Klausen Pass .
The merger with the municipality of Thayngen came about on Sunday, August 17th, 2008 with a clear result at the ballot box. Together with the former communities of Altdorf , Bibern and Hofen , Opfertshofen has been part of the largest community in the east of the canton of Schaffhausen since January 1, 2009.
coat of arms
- Natural green vines standing in yellow on green ground with three hanging blue grapes (2: 1) on a brown stick.
In 1804 the oldest coat of arms of the municipality can be found on a seal. It represents a vine that stands on a very small piece of earth. In 1917 the coat of arms can be found in the church in Opfertshofen. Here the vine grows directly from the base of the shield, the background is blue. In 1950 the coat of arms was chosen during the purge, with the ground still visible.
